The Hilton Head fishing season is heating up, with March expecting to bring an exceptional amount of sheepshead fish. Sheepshead are a common North American marine species that can be identified by five or six dark bars on the side of the body over a gray background. “They can be caught year-round in our local Hilton Head waters mainly around docks and bridges, structures that have an abundance of barnacle and oyster growth. Usually in late February and March, they migrate to our nearshore reefs,” said Capt. Miles.
